FIRST DANCE SONG INSPIRATION

Ah the age old first dance. The weird bit where you get to dance in front of your friends and family. Almost as strange as having Happy Birthday sung to you; you’re never really quite sure what you’re supposed to do. Snogging your partner as you say I do was intense enough in front of your father in law, you’ve now got to figure out if going for a booty grab mid song is going to land you on children’s table at Christmas every year. Here’s some first dance song inspiration that just might make the booty grab worth it. 

To slow dance or groove out….

First point of call, we need to figure out what type of first dance you’re going to have. Are you going with a high school shuffle or a fully choreographed master piece?

• The slow dance– a simple shuffle around the dance floor with minimal preparation. Think high school dance. 
• 30 second slow dance– respectfully not everyone fancies being the centre of attention, so this option to dance with your partner for a smidge and then encourage others to dance is a good option. 
• Choreographed– if you’ve got a bit of rhythm and aren’t adversely shy, then a dance class with some cha cha or salsa vibes could be the go. 
• Film inspired– a really fun option that seems to get the crowd going. Think Thriller, Footloose, Dirty dancing, Grease and Pulp Fiction. 
• Everyone dance– where everyone comes to the dance floor together and dances at the same time as the newly weds. 

The reason for a first dance is to start the party, so have fun with it.

You have so many options to choose from but in the end, it’s about getting it right for you and your partner. If you’re a classic romantic then you’ll have song inspiration a plenty, just jump on google or even search ‘first dance songs’ on Spotify.
